Pre-University Education

A total of 49,640 educational institution hosting 18,482,872 students. These institutes include governmental schools, private schools and Islamic institutes.
Egypt gave great attention to quality assurance of both pre-university and university education at the national level. Great efforts have been achieved in all levels since the law of NAQAAE establishment was issued.
Therefore, the pre-university education sector, which is one of the three sectors constituting NAQAAE, supports such efforts which are being performed by NAQAAE in light of the aims of the sector and its mission and for the purpose of preparing new generations capable of participating in the advancement of Egyptian society and competing at the international level.

1- The pre-university education involves:

  • Kindergarten.
  • Elementary schools.
  • Preparatory schools.
  • General secondary schools.
  • Technical secondary schools.
  • Schools for girls education.
  • Society schools.
  • "The One Class" schools.
  • Special education.

  • 2- The role of the sector : The sector has different strategic roles to achieve its mission through the following:

  • Disseminating quality and accreditation culture at pre-university education institutions and preparing the society to accept the culture of assessment, measurement , reviewing, and supporting institutions.
  • Encouraging community involvement, and patronage of educational institutions in a framework of civil society comprehensive vision, based on trust of society and with the assistance of NAQAAE in providing transparent data and objective information.
  • Establishing national reference frameworks for the national standards of education through which reviewing and accreditation of the educational institutions' standards are performed.
  • Supporting quality assurance and control systems in schools for the purpose of assuring the continuity of the improvement process at educational institutions.
  • Conducting assessment visits such as support visits to help in developing the educational process and other accreditation visits to evaluate the eligibility of schools for attaining educational accreditation.
  • The assessment visits will be the tool for the achievement of the role of NAQAAE through the following:
  • The unbiased, objective and accurate report
  • The continuous technical support of schools
  • Good communication and enhancement of quality education through accurate knowledge and information
  • Accurate standards and measures
  • The educational accreditation means: the advancement of the institutional performance to achieve its benchmark standards. The accreditation process starts with the institution self
  • study then reviewing the results of such self evaluation by specialists properly trained in institutional assessment procedures. This process is performed in light of quality assurance and accreditation standards. The accreditation of the institution is achieved if the institution meets the standards in all different areas of the educational process.
  • The educational accreditation:

  • Depends on a number of agreed upon standards.
  • Is considered to be an input for achieving quality of education.
  • Enhances performance and supports institutions to attain specific quality of education.
  • Gives importance to the final product of the educational process (the learner) and to different areas of the educational process.
